An Indo-Chinese recipe without using Ajinomoto / MSG
✓ Recipe to serve approximately 4 people.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED (you can adjust according to taste) :
Vegetable Oil (Tel) – enough for frying Onions & Paneer
1 medium Onion – very finely chopped (Dungri)
1 medium Tomato (Tamata)
2 tablespoons of Tomato Puree (Cirio)
2 to 3 Cloves Garlic finely chopped (Lasan)
1 & a 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped Ginger (Adrak)
6 teaspoons of Tamarind Paste (Amli)
6 teaspoons of Soy Sauce
200 grams of Paneer (sliced into batons, fried & then soaked in cold water)
*Since making this video we’ve learn an additional method that we want you to know about:
before you fry the paneer dip the paneer pieces in a batter made with Water, Corn flour & Wheat flour, (this will give a very crispy coating to the paneer & you don’t then need to soak in water.
1 Red + 1 Green Pepper (Capsicum)
4 to 5 teaspoons of Mangal Chicken Tikka Masala (Garam Masala) – we prefer to use Mangal brand (but any other good quality brand should be just as good).
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of home Garam Masala
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 teaspoon Cumin Powder (Jeera)
Approximately 1 teaspoon Salt (Namak) – to taste
1 or 1 & 1/2 teaspoon of Sugar (Karn) to taste
4 Cardamon Pods (Elaichi)
4 Cloves (Lavang)
1 Small piece of Cinnamon (Taj)
1 Vegetable Stock cube (Flavour Maker)
TO GARNISH :
Handful of washed & freshly cut Green Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
2 Spring Onions.
Optional – if you prefer it hotter 1 chopped Green Chilli (Mirchu) to garnish at the end.
This is a pure Indian / Chinese vegetarian recipe; (but you may substitute the Paneer & use either Mushrooms or Chicken to make “Chilli Mushrooms” or “Chilli Chicken”.
